Jersey Festival Choir

The Anthem for Jersey Competition took place on Wednesday 30th April 2008 at the Opera House and the winner was.... Island Home by Gerard Le Feuvre.

Thursday 8th May 2008; organ recital to be given by Julian Wilkins at St. Luke's Church It will include Fantasia and Fugues by Bach and Liszt, Widor’s Adagio and Toccata, Elgar’s Pomp & Circumstance and two pieces by Handel. Generally he will be playing light classics and other music suitable for the eve of Liberation Day.  This recital will start at 7.30 p.m. and tickets, at the door, are priced at £5. (all proceeds will go towards choir funds to help stage the Spring Concert)

Friday 9th May 2008 10.30am; Community singing at the Liberation Day service  This event will include an opportunity to hear the new Jersey anthem sung

Saturday 10th May 2008 8pm; Spring concert at St. Helier Methodist Centre;
Fauré Requiem with guest conductor David Lawrence and James Mews with the Jersey Chamber Orchestra
Tickets at £10 available at the door or from the Arts Centre before the performance.
 

NB We are always on the look out for keen (though not necessarily expert) singers. Come along to a rehearsal and say hello, you'll find a warm welcome!
